  2. Internet working: Let’s isolate the issue, make sure the internet is working on the phone, if you cannot use the internet on the phone, it means you need to setup the APN Settings on it. Please check this guide on how to enable the internet on the phone
  3. APN / MMS Version: If the internet is working, then we need to double check that you have the correct MMS settings on the phone. 4. Check MMS Settings: When setting up the APN, inspect the following fields:
    • MMSC: This is important, as MMS services rely on this, use http://mms-tf.net or http://mms.tracfone.com
    • MMSC Proxy: try to use mms3.tracfone.com
    • MMS Port: Please use 80
    • APN Type: This is one of the most important piece of information. to use mms, on the apn type you should use – default, mms, supl – a comma in between with no spaces.
  5. Create separate MMS: if all the above settigns are looking good, let’s try to isolate the MMS settings, for this. On the APN Settings, delete MMSC, MMSC Proxy and MMS Port and set APN type to default, supl. Now, create a new APN and use APN type mms – and setup the values for the aforementioned fields.
  6. Install a MMS app: If you are still not able to use MMS on straight talk, then try using a 3rd party MMS app, such as Google Hangout (you can download form play store here) or you can also try Textra SMS

Before setting up the Straight Talk APN Settings there are a few things you need to know first in order to set it up right.

Straight Talk is prepaid wireless service in the United States sold by Walmart. Straight Talk has a quite good coverage of 99.6% in the US, so it has a very good signal and service. It is an VMNO or Virtual Mobile Network Operator which means that Straight Talk uses the main carriers´  network in order to provide you mobile services.  So when you are setting the APN settings for your phone, you will need to know which is the main carrier that Straight Talk is using with your sim card.

AT&T APN Settings – Complete setup Guide

AT&T APN Settings – Complete setup Guide.   In this post, we will teach you how to correctly setup the APN settings on the AT&T data plan, in just a few minutes you will have your phone up and running with the fastest APN available.

Just to give you some idea,  AT&T is the 2nd largest mobile operators in the United States, with over 110 Million of subscribers, it is just behind Verizon.   AT&T is running on GSM Network on the GSM 850/1900 Mhz, it also offers LTE speed on 700/1700/1900 MHz.   The model of your phone will determine whether you can use the normal 3G network or an enhanced LTE connection.

AT&T APN Settings – Correct APN I should use.

Finding the correct AT&T APN Settings can be sometimes a little bit tricky, there are a few versions of it, so we will explain you in details what’s the difference on them.

If you have your contract directly with AT&T, Please use these following APN Values:

Name: ATT HSPA+
APN: phone
Proxy:  not set
Port:  not set
Username:  not set
Password:  not set
Server: not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410

If you have signed up the service with Straight Talk, which also runs on the AT&T network, you should not use the values we have provided above, but these ones instead:

Name: straight talk
APN: tfdata
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410

We have seen that some older models mobile phone don’t support the 1st set of APN’s, in that case, please try changing some of the values on it and try with this:

Name: ATT
APN: wap.cingular
Username: [email protected]
Password: cingular1
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com

For those values not listed, you can leave it default or blank.  If you need details on how to configure the APN Settings for your AT&T phone, please refer to the next section

AT&T APN Settings – How to configure it in my phone

Depending on the model of the phone you have, the APN settings menu will differ please locate the one you are using and follow the steps.

For Android users:

It is located in SettingsWireless ConnectionsMore, then you will see Mobile networks and finally Access Point Names

If you are an iPhone User:

In both cases, instead of editing the existing APN Settings you have, please delete them and create a new set of AT&T APN Settings using the information provided above, it is also important that you restart your phone after typing in and saving the information.
