When you are trying to send out a normal text message (SMS) and it gets automatically changed to MMS? If this happens on your Samsung Galaxy phone, we are going to teach you how to fix this issue for good.

As you may know, text messages or SMS are usually included for free and unlimited but most carriers charge out for MMS, so it’s not a good idea that you keep sending MMS

How to change MMS Setting on Galaxy

To avoid the phone changing from SMS to Multimedia Picture Message or MMS. Follow these simple steps:

On your Galaxy phone, go to the Messages app, you shouw now see three little dots (menu options), tab on that and then select Settings. Now Go to Text messages and Select Input Mode. From this menu, there will three options:

GSM Alphabet, which is limiting to only normal characters to be allowed in text messages, this will give you 160 chars per message.

Unicode, which sets it to allow special characters and Emojis, this will ilmit the message to a maximum of seventy characters.

Automatic, this is normally the default option, as the phone will determine whether it is an SMS or MMS based on t he content that is included in the message, however if the phone is doing it in a wrong way or you dont want it to switch to MMS, you can change the option to Alphabet
