Optus APN Settings

Having MMS picture messaging or Data connection issues? Let’s configure the Optus Australia 4G LTE & MMS Settings for Android, iPhone and Windows Phone. 

With these settings you should be able to browse the internet and send or receive picture multimedia messages

Optus APN Settings 2020

Name: internet

APN: yesinternet

MMSC: http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/

APN Type: default,mms,supl

Optus APN Settings for Android

To Update or Add APN on an Android phone Go to Settings > Connections (or More) > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

We recommend to always add a new APN instead of editing an existing one.  Tab on the menu option (little 3 dots on upper right corner) and select Add.  Input the following values exactly as they appear:

Name: internet

APN: yesinternet

Proxy: Leave Blank

Port: Leave Blank

Username: Not Required

Password: Not Required

Server: Leave Blank

MMSC: http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/

MMS proxy: 61.88.190.10

MMS port: 8070

MCC: Use Default, Do not change

MNC: Use Default, Do not change

APN Type: default,mms,supl  (or internet+mms)

APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6

APN roaming Protocol: IPv4

Bearer: Unspecified

Tab Save, in the Access Point Menu make sure you select the newly created APN as default one.  Restart your phone and test the connectivity.  

Please note that if you change the MCC or MNC values, it will not save the APN Settings – The APN will disappear once you tab on Save

Optus APN Settings for iPhone

To setup the APN or Cellular Data on your iOS device, depending on the version of your iOS, please follow one of the following options:

For iOS 8 and below – Go to Settings > Cellular > Make Sure Cellular Data is enabled the go to

Cellular Data Options > Cellular Network

Or

For iOS 9 or above – Go to Settings > Mobile Data >Make Sure Mobile Data is enabled.  Now Tab on Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network.

And enter the following information:

APN: yesinternet

Username: Not Required

Password: Not Required

Now, in the LTE Setup (Optional) type in the following info:

APN: Leave Blank

Username: Leave Blank

Password: Leave Blank

For you to be able to send picture messages (MMS), please fill in the details in the MMS section as well:

APN: yesinternet

Username: Leave Blank

Password: Leave Blank

MMSC: http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/

MMS Proxy: 61.88.190.10

MMS Max Message Size: 1048576

MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mm/uaprof.rdf

Tab on the Home key to Save the Settings and return to the Main Screen.  Restart your iPhone and you should be able use the internet on your iPhone

Please note that If option to edit the APN is not available in your iPhone, it means it is disabled by your carrier, in this case please try to reset the network settings or install a carrier profile via Safari

Optus APN Settings for Windows Phone

For Windows Phone 7 or 8:

Go to Settings > Cellular > Sim Settings > Add Internet APN

Or

For Windows Phone 10:

Go to Settings > Network and Wireless > Cellular & Sim Settings > Add Internet APN

Profile Name: internet

APN: yesinternet

User name: Leave Blank

Password: Leave Blank

Type of sing-in info: Leave Blank

IP Type: IPv4

Enable the option to Use this APN for LTE and replace the one from my mobile operator

Proxy Server (URL): Leave Blank

Proxy Port: Leave Blank

Save the settings.

Now, we need to setup the MMS Settings, in Cellular go to Properties, under MMS APN, select Add an MMS APN

Profile Name: internet

APN: yesinternet

User name: Leave Blank

Password: Leave Blank

Type of Sign-in-info: None

IP Type: IPv4

Proxy Server: 61.88.190.10  

Proxy Port: Leave Blank

MMSC (URL): http://mmsc.optus.com.au

MMSC Port: 8002

Maximum MMS Size (KB): 2048

Save the Settings and restart your Windows phone
